If you are interested in taking your dancing to the next level, training with experienced and supportive staff, being a part of a team, and becoming a part of a FAMILY, Shock Dance Center is the Company for YOU!

Please Note: Dancers should audition with their age group for their  age AS OF MAY 17th, 2025. No exceptions!! Remember, routine placement IS NOT exclusively determined by age. Skill level, technical achievement/potential, performance ability AND work ethic and class behavior are the crucial elements which determine routine placement.

**Please indicate on the form whether you would like to be considered for our Performance Company. This group is perfect for those who are new to dance or those looking for an option with less time and financial commitment while still being part of our amazing dance family.**

WHAT TO EXPECT AT AUDITIONS:
Parents (or dancers) will be required to fill out a short google form prior to auditions (located above.) This will indicate the audition classes you will be attending for the day. Dancers must pay a $35.00 audition fee prior to attending audition day. No dancers will be eligible to audition who have an outstanding balance. This can be done using the portal link above. Solo auditions are a separate audition class so please be sure to select that as well if you would like to be considered for a solo.

Please note: your spot is NOT reserved until both the payment on the portal and google forms are completed.

During ALL company auditions, dancers may be asked to follow a brief warm up. They will then be asked to learn a short piece of choreography and perform it in groups. They may also be asked to demonstrate specific technical skills.

SOLO AUDITIONS: Each dancer interested in competing a solo for the 2025-2026 season will be required to perform a 45 second self choreographed solo piece in the genre they wish to compete in (no past solos please). The cost will be $15 for the solo audition. Dancers must come with a phone to be plugged in for music that starts at the beginning of the track.  *Please note, dancers only need to prepare one solo audition, even if your goal is to have multiple solos next season.

Solos require a significant commitment—both in time and financial investment—and we want to ensure that every dancer is truly ready for this responsibility. Because of this, auditioning for a solo does not guarantee that a dancer will receive one. Our staff will carefully evaluate each dancer’s audition, as well as their work ethic, classroom behavior, dedication, and overall readiness to determine if a solo is the right fit.

Additionally, with our growing number of dancers, this process is essential to ensuring that our staff has the time and resources to provide every soloist with the attention and training they deserve. While we understand this is a change from previous seasons, we truly believe it is in the best interest of our dancers, staff, and studio as a whole. We appreciate your support and understanding as we implement this new process.

AUDITION DRESS CODE/ETIQUETTE:
Auditionees should be dressed in form fitting dance attire. Dancers should have proper footwear including turning shoes. Hair should be pulled back out of the face and tidy.

Other Audition Etiquette Notes:

*ONLY water will be permitted in the studio.

*Please leave all other items in the Hub Break Area.

*Dancers should NOT SIT at any point during audition classes unless permission to do so is granted by Staff.

A NOTE TO PARENTS:
SHOCK company auditions are closed, meaning parents are not permitted in the studio during auditions. Parents of dancers over the age of 5, you may plan to drop off/pick up your dancer, and refrain from waiting in the lobby, as to keep capacity at a minimum.

Following auditions, SHOCK staff will send an email to all who audition to inform them if they have earned a spot on our 2025-2026 Company. From there, ALL company members will be REQUIRED to attend our Summer Intensive from July 8-10 (ages 9 and up or by teacher invite) or June 11th and 12th (ages 8 and under) or our In The Spotlight Camp June 23-26 (Teen Novice). Your specific camp as well as placement levels for our mandatory ballet intensive (July 23-25) will be included in your company invite. Routine placements will be determined during summer camps. You will receive assignments to specific routines no later than July 24th and will have until July 29th to accept. At that point, specific details regarding all fees, company installments, choreography dates, etc will be sent out. We look forward to an AMAZING audition day with everyone!
